Characterization of Swine Models of Pulmonary Hypertension

Featuring Dr. Daphne Merkus

Daphne MerkusIn this webinar, Dr Daphne Merkus from Erasmus MC Rotterdam as well as LMU in Munich discusses how chronic instrumentation of swine with pulmonary vein stenosis can be used to follow-up on severity of disease. During an 8 week follow-up period hemodynamic measurements of cardiac output and coronary blood flow are combined with measurement of pressure in the aorta, pulmonary artery, left and right ventricle at rest and during exercise to get a more complete picture of pulmonary microvascular and right ventricular remodeling as well as ventriculo-arterial coupling.
